The Lord is awe-inspiring, fearsome, fascinating, intriguing, and majestic in his radiant splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him today and what came to my heart and mind in Proverbs 10:1,

"A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish son brings grief to his mother."
Sometimes it is helpful to have a "yardstick" to provide us with an idea as to how we are doing. That is what gauges in an automobile are all about. They let us know how everything is running.
When it comes to the cultivation of wisdom in our lives, the gauge pointed to in Proverbs here is to look to the parents! Parents have a special enablement (normatively) from God and we can verify our wisdom versus foolishness quotient by the joy and happiness we bring them, or, on the other hand, the grief.
I think many might disagree with this. Those that would need to take the matter up with the Lord. Afterall, this comes from Proverbs!
