The Lord is awe-inspiring, fearsome, fascinating, intriguing, and majestic in his radiant splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him today and what came to my heart and mind in Proverbs 8:10-11,

"Choose my instruction instead of silver,
knowledge rather than choice gold,
for wisdom is more precious than rubies,
and nothing you desire can compare with her."
Some things in life are worth a lot, some very little. How to tell the difference?
I suspect we would all be surprised at how much we have invested our lives in that which is worth very little. We invest our lives by using the time the Lord has given us, the talents and abilities he has blessed us with, and the resources, income, etc. we have accumulated.
Proverbs presents wisdom as that which is more valuable than silver, gold, rubies or anything else we can compare her to!
Wisdom is the object the book of Proverbs seeks to promote. In verses 1-6 of this chapter, Wisdom invites us to herself, making herself available to us all. All we need to do is invest our lives in her! She says in verse 35, "For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord."
What could be better than that?
