The Lord is awe-inspiring, fearsome, fascinating, intriguing, and majestic in his radiant splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him today and what came to my heart and mind in Proverbs 4:1-4,

"Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction;
pay attention and gain understanding.
I give you sound learning,
so do not forsake my teaching.
For I too was a son to my father,
still tender, and cherished by my mother.
Then he taught me, and he said to me,
'Take hold of my words with all your heart;
keep my commands, and you will live.'"
Here we see a father teaching his son what his father taught him. Wisdom is to be propagated from one generation to the next. For us, it is propagated through the Scriptures. What the Lord wants to tell us is what he wanted to teach to our grandparents and what he wants to teach our children.
Unfortunately, there are those who prefer to stay in a spiritual darkness. "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed." John 3:19-20.

Wisdom is to be propagated, it is to be spread to all who will listen, it is not to be in the possession of just a select few. As we have learned from other passages in Proverbs, the woman Wisdom makes her invitation to all mankind, all can be wise!
How wonderful the Lord makes wisdom available to us!
