Rash Lips Ruin Lives - Ruminating in the Word of God

The Lord is awe-inspiring, fearsome, fascinating, intriguing, and majestic in his radiant splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saohim today anwhat came to my heart and mind in Proverbs 13:3,

"Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin."

When you read what Jesus taught, this proverb becomes crystal clear, "What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person's heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person." Mark 7:20-23.

This was his explanation to his disciples when he told them, "Don't you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? For it doesn't go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)" 7:18-19.

When we express our hearts by what we say, it can very well lead to our ruin. The wise person guards their lips and so avoids the ruin rash people bring upon themselves.

Anything of the Lord capture your heart from Scripture today? Share what moved you about him from your Bible reading today. I'd love to hear from you!

If you have someone you would like to receive these ruminations, send me their email address. I'm happy to add them to the list. If you are receiving this and would like to be removed from the list, just reply and let me know.
