Worship for Today: The Lord is worthy of all my praise!

The Lord is awe-inspiring, fascinating, intriguing, majestic, and full of splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him in Psalm 18:3,

I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.

In his great need, David calls out to the Lord. David calls the Lord his rock, his fortress and his deliverer. The Lord is the one David took refuge in, his shield and the horn, or power, of his salvation, his stronghold, verse 2. David says he loves the Lord, verse 1, and that the Lord is worthy of praise.

That stops me in my tracks this morning “the Lord, who is worthy of praise…”! Just how praiseworthy is the Lord? How praiseworthy to me?

As I think of the Lord, I find he is the one who always, and without fail, has my best interests in his heart. In his tremendous love, he loves me. This love of his never falters or fails, is always consistent, has always been there and always will be. It is not based on my performance and he has decided that my relationship with him will be based on the priceless perfection of Jesus Christ! In addition to his great love and care for me, he has demonstrated his boundless kindness, mercy and grace to me!

As I think of God, I think of him as having a many-splendored glory that demonstrates perfections of all that is fitting and appropriate to the one who has created all there is. All of the works of his hands manifest this glory and provide for me more than a surpassing worthiness for all of my praise and worship I can muster today!

Anything of the Lord capture your heart from Scripture today? Share your thoughts of worship with us from your Bible reading today. We’d love to hear from you!
