Worship for Today: God brings life and vitality!

The Lord is awe-inspiring, fascinating, intriguing, majestic, and full of splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him in Psalm 1:1-3,

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

This first psalm, a wisdom psalm speaks of two paths, two directions, two ways of living life. The man who takes the godly path will be blessed; the man who takes the path of the wicked, the sinner, the mocker will not.

The blessing of the one path leads to life, to vitality, to regeneration. The one on this path yields fruit in its proper season, doesnt wither but prospers. The man on the path of the wicked reaps desolation, They are like chaff that the wind blows away, verse 4.

This speaks to me of the nature of God. God brings life, God brings vitality and health. God brings blessings and fruitfulness. Fullness of life awaits those who pursue God and delight in his law, his word, the Bible. As Jesus said of himself, I am the way and the truth and the life.

Anything of the Lord capture your heart from Scripture today? Share your theme of worship with us from your Bible reading today. We’d love to hear from you!
