The Lord is awe-inspiring, fearsome, fascinating, intriguing, and majestic in his radiant splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him today and what came to my heart and mind in 1 Corinthians 2:9-12,
Anything of the Lord capture your heart from Scripture today? Share what moved you about him from your Bible reading today. I'd love to hear from you!

"'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him'— but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us."
I understand here that the Holy Spirit who came to dwell in me when I embraced Jesus Christ in faith reveals God's very thoughts to me! As I stop and think about that, how astonishing that is! If you told all the people around you that you know what God thinks, they might struggle with that.
My perspective is what Paul is talking of here are those things that all believers have access to. I am not aware of any thoughts that God has about me and my situation specifically- although I know he has them. But I know a lot of what he has revealed to us in the pages of Scripture. Knowing his thoughts from Scripture help me understand, define and relate/react to what I find around me in the world I live in.
Peter tells us that the Bible came about when "men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit", 2 Peter 1:21. Paul tells us that all Scripture is "God-breathed", 2 Timothy 3:16. He illuminates, helps me understand, enlightens his word to me, "opens" my heart and mind to the pages of Scripture through his Spirit that dwells within me, the very same Spirit who inspired the writers of Scripture! Folks who don't have the Holy Spirit are just not going to be able to understand or accept or relate to Scripture very well because the Scriptures are the very thoughts and records of God: they are spiritually discerned, only by the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.
As I ponder these thoughts, how awesome it all is… how astonishing the reality of it is! What a wonderful Lord we have that communicates to us in this way!
