The Lord Will Usher In A New Age - Ruminating in the Word of God

The Lord is awe-inspiring, fearsome, fascinating, intriguing, and majestic in his radiant splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saohim today anwhat came to my heart and mind in Isaiah 32:14-20,

"The fortress will be abandoned, the noisy city deserted; citadel and watchtower will become a wasteland forever, the delight of donkeys, a pasture for flocks, till the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. Justice will dwell in the desert and righteousness live in the fertile field. The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. Though hail flattens the forest and the city is leveled completely, how blessed you will be, sowing your seed by every stream, and letting your cattle and donkeys range free."

The complacent women of Jerusalem in Isaiah's day who felt a false sense of security are told to tremble, to shudder and to put on sackcloth because the Lord's wrath will be coming.

But then the Lord says at a later time the Spirit will usher in a new age. An age following a time when the Spirit will be poured on God's people. A new messianic age will dawn when "justice will dwell" where it doesn't now and "righteousness live" where it doesn't now.

It will be a time of blessing where righteousness brings peace, quietness and confidence forever! Peaceful dwelling places, secure homes… "undisturbed places of rest".

What a time, what a wonderful place will be ours in the resurrection. An eternal life of blessing lived in the presence of our God of boundless love, incredible beauty and awesome splendor!

What a wonderful God we have that will bring these things to pass!
