Worship for Today: God makes us fit for life with him!

The Lord is awe-inspiring, fascinating, intriguing, majestic, and full of splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him in Psalm 15:1-2,

Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart…”

In this psalm David asks the burning issue of the ages: just who is it from mankind that will spend eternity with God? David, knowing the answer, provides it for this psalm: those who have a changed heart will spend an eternity with God.

Because of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden and his resulting sin nature that he developed that Paul describes in Romans 1:18-32, no one will be qualified. No one has ever been blameless and done what is righteous in all of the history of mankind except one: our Lord Jesus Christ. God is blameless and righteous; mankind is anything but blameless and righteous.

David is speaking of what will have to take place in a persons life in order to become fit for life with God. Paul speaks to this very issue in 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! This is the new birth that Jesus talked about with Nicodemus in John 3:3, I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. This takes place the instant one embraces Jesus Christ in faith, Romans 10:9-10.

How wonderful it is that God has provided us the opportunity of a second birth that we be fit for him!

Anything of the Lord capture your heart from Scripture today? Share your theme of worship with us from your Bible reading today. We’d love to hear from you!
