What A Future: The Resurrection! - Ruminating in the Word of God

The Lord is awe-inspiring, fearsome, fascinating, intriguing, and majestic in his radiant splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saohim today anwhat came to my heart and mind in 2 Corinthians 4:13-15,

"It is written: 'I believed; therefore I have spoken.' With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God."

I suspect that many folks who have not embraced Jesus Christ in faith, those whose minds and hearts are covered with a "veil", who have been "blinded" by the god of this age, 2 Corinthians 4:3-4, find our wonderful hope in the resurrection a delusion.

But our hope in the resurrection is no delusion! Our participation in the resurrection is a certainty! The witnessed and substantiated resurrection of Jesus Christ is our guarantee that we will be raised to life on that day!

As Paul put it in his letter to the Romans, "If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you… For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers." Romans 8:11,29.

I find this to be cause for real excitement! Just thinking of what is coming our way has an effect of energizing my relationship with the Lord with an "inexpressible and glorious joy"! As Peter put it in his first letter, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice… Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls." 1 Peter 1:3-6a, 8-9.

What a wonderful God who has given us such a promise!
