The Lord is awe-inspiring, fearsome, fascinating, intriguing, and majestic in his radiant splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him today and what came to my heart and mind in Psalm 76:4,

"You [God] are resplendent with light,
more majestic than mountains rich with game."
I am aware that my concept of God's glory is inadequate. I just have nothing with which to compare or contrast it to. Not having had a close encounter with God's own glory, I have to rely on viewing the works of God and the things I read of him to help me gain even a hint.
I am told that God lives in unapproachable light, 1 Timothy 6:16. There Paul reminds Timothy that God gives life to everything, that he is the blessed and only Ruler. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is the only immortal – no one has seen or can see because he dwells in this unapproachable light! Revelation 4:2-3 provides a fascinating view, "there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne." Wow!
Paul goes on to tell Timothy that it is God who "richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment." 1 Timothy 6:17. This speaks to the fruitfulness and provision of God for us as he is "more majestic than mountains rich with game." Although I am sure my appreciation for what we call the glory of God is inadequate, I am certain that if this world had just a glimpse, it would transform it for eternity. As I look ahead to the future and realize that is exactly what is going to happen, it brings to my heart a reverent fascination and something quite enthralling to consider!
