Worship for Today: Jesus Christ is the Lion of the tribe of Judah!

The Lord is awe-inspiring, fascinating, intriguing, majestic, and full of splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him in Genesis 49:8-12,

Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father's sons will bow down to you. You are a lion's cub, O Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness—who dares to rouse him? The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his. He will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch; he will wash his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes. His eyes will be darker than wine, his teeth whiter than milk.

Just prior to Jacobs death he calls his sons in to pronounce his blessing on each one. When he comes to Judah he looks down through the ages to come and speaks of our Lord Jesus Christ who will come from the tribe of Judah. Jesus Christ is the one who comes to whom the rulers staff belongs! One day the obedience of the nations will be his! He has washed his garments in blood securing our acceptance before his holy, righteous and just Father in heaven! In Revelation 5:5a we read, Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.

Anything of the Lord capture your heart from Scripture today? Share your theme of worship with us from your Bible reading today. We’d love to hear from you!
