Our God Does What Pleases Him! - Ruminating in the Word of God

The Lord is awe-inspiring, fearsome, fascinating, intriguing, and majestic in his radiant splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saohim today anwhat came to my heart and mind in Psalm 135:6,

"The Lord does whatever pleases him,
in the heavens and on the earth,
in the seas and all their depths."

This is such a wonderful verse! Nothing can and will divert our God from doing what pleases him! What is so wonderful about this verse is what it is the Lord pleases to do! From Romans 8:23 I read "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?"

Now I am not sure just what "all things" includes but I know it is beyond my ability to conceive. Earlier in Romans 8:17 we read, "Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ…"

1 Peter 1:3-6a tells me, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice…"

Ephesians 1:3-8 tells me, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding."

It is God's pleasure to lavish on us what will so richly be ours in the resurrection. This is what pleases our God! Nothing will dissuade him from blessing us with what is beyond words to describe.

What a God! What a salvation!
