Worship for Today: The majestic splendor of God's glory!

The Lord is awe-inspiring, fascinating, intriguing, majestic, and full of splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him in Psalm 68:32-35,

Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth, sing praise to the Lord, to him who rides the ancient skies above, who thunders with mighty voice. Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel, whose power is in the skies. You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!

In this psalm of David the majestic splendor of Gods mighty power is put on vivid display! When just the back side of Gods glory passed in front of Moses we are told it transformed him. In Exodus 34 we read that his face was so radiant that Aaron and all the leaders fled from him Moses had to call to them. When Moses first received the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai we read, When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distance and said to Moses, Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.’” Exodus 20:18-19.

The glory of God is something I can only imagine. David must have seen something of it and the day is coming when we will all see it. I am certain it will only be in my transformed resurrected body that I would ever be able to survive even a glimpse of the majestic splendor of the manifestation of Gods glory! What a thought to behold!

Anything of the Lord capture your heart from Scripture today? Share your theme of worship with us from your Bible reading today. We’d love to hear from you!
