Our God Speaks to Us! - Ruminating in the Word of God

The Lord is awe-inspiring, fearsome, fascinating, intriguing, and majestic in his radiant splendor: breathtaking! Here is what I saw of him today and what came to my heart and mind in Psalm 25:14,

"The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them."
 
It is astonishing to me that the Creator of the universe "confides" in those who fear him. He communicates to us! He reveals himself to us! 

How limited our understanding of God and his intentions would be if he had not communicated with us. But in his boundless love for us he pursued us, bridged the gap of estrangement between us and him through giving us his Son, Jesus Christ. 

To communicate these things, he raised up special people he endowed with his Spirit, his prophets, to speak to us through the written word, the Scriptures, our bibles. Additionally, he filled our hearts with his Holy Spirit that illuminates our minds and hearts as we read and study them. 

To think that the very words, the very thoughts and ideas that are contained in the communication we have from our Creator sits on our coffee tables and bookshelves – our Bibles!! What an astonishing reality! 

Our God speaks to us!
